I'm lucky that I live close to Somi Kim but it would absolutely be worth going out of your way for Dr. Kim's thorough, good-natured and patient examination and as well as their high-quality lens work. I've been going to Somi Kim Optometry to have new lens made for existing frames since we moved to Koreatown in April of 2016. Their level of professionalism is unsurpassed and it's because of them that I had Dr. Somi Kim herself administer my first eye exam since March 2015. She is a MAGNIFICENT Optometrist: extremely patient and thorough in what can often be a flustering process. I couldn't wait to get home to write my review about both her and her establishment. Her basic exam was only $50 (since I don't have insurance) and it bops up to $80 if you want the high-tech 3-D version. Likewise, you can invest in higher quality anti-scratch and anti-glare coatings as well as different weights and thicknesses of lenses. They will work with you and offer you fare, if not extremely competitive prices. Their selection of frames is WONDERFUL and I could easily drop a couple paychecks to get the latest styles in frames. I can't say enough good things about this place.

This was the best Optometry I’ve ever been to, Dr Somi Kim was the best. Very informative, patient and personal. She took the time to explain everything and answered all my questions. Even the front office staff was helpful and patient in every way. With helping me with insurance and even taking the time to assist in picking out my perfect frames. If I could give more thang 5 starts I definitely would. If your in need of a optometrist look no further!

Highly Knowledgeable and great care! Dr. Kim was wonderful. I found her on Yelp when looking for an inexpensive eye exam and received wonderful care at a great price. She is very thorough, highly knowledgeable, and offered information to answer my questions and beyond. Her facility has state of the art equipment including an alternate to dilation--no more wearing sunglasses for five hours with blurry vision. She has a machine that takes a picture of the retina with no side-effects. The retinal exam is additional beyond vision exam, and she was so thorough and effective I opted to do it and got even more great information. I highly recommend her. And great parking in back!
