Arriving 15+ minutes late with no video call link, cancelling on me last minute, requiring excessive assessments that don't exist (or claim that they don't exist, then I find out MONTHS later that they do but have very long wait lists and won't put me on the list until I see another booked-out person), etc... added stress and a huge waste of time and effort. Meanwhile, my symptoms just keep getting worse.
If I didn't have a substance abuse problem before this psych, I sure have one now.
For years this was my behavioral health provider in a few capacities. Pre-pandemic, they made it a hassle to stay in their system and to make appointments. The receptionists were almost always rude and making errors. It was frustrating, but I dealt with all the downsides because my psychiatrist and her nurse were great.
When they changed over from CPC to Sound, there was a noticeable decline in patient care and communication (as you can see from the rest of the reviews). Then, without warning, my psychiatrist and Sound parted ways. No one informed me though, so I sat through our whole telehealth appointment waiting, thinking maybe she was just behind schedule.
Two months later, they contacted me to let me know they’d reassigned me to someone else. This person immediately told me they wouldn't prescribe the medication I had been taking under the supervision of my psychiatrist, but couldn’t tell me why. She recommended an alternative, but I pointed out an obvious red flag making that specific medication unsafe for me personally.
It’s frustrating that I felt things had been going smoothly and well-managed, but then as a result of their management and personnel changes, Sound completely left me hanging and dropped the ball. Imagine if I were living with worse symptoms, or had been more dependent on what I’d been taking. I fear for the rest of the patients who’ve entrusted their care to this organization.
Someone recently reached out by text asking whether I’d be scheduling again. When I indicated I was disappointed in the experiences I’d had, they didn’t ask for details. Instead, they seemed eager to erase me from their system. What’s worse is they said they worked in the quality department. That’s the opposite of what I observed, past and present.
Unless you know for sure you have a provider that you work well with, don’t bother with this place. Even then, they might simply disappear. Dealing with mental health is a big responsibility and Sound just isn’t reliable.
