Avoid this company at all cost. I made the mistake of working with this company because of my insurance. DO NOT ever agree to have your vehicle stored at their facility. My car was involved in a hit and run on a Friday evening with the body shop not open until Monday, the operator convinced me to just have my vehicle stored at their site and call in first thing on Monday to have it delivered to my preferred shop. This is where the nightmare started. I called at 9am on Monday and submitted my request. I was told someone would call me back. I waited until 1pm and called Southbay Towing again since I never received a call back. The office manager, Carolina, then proceeded to tell me that I needed to call my insurance company to request their authorization to release my own vehicle. So I call my insurance agent and unfortunately, she was already gone for the day (Eastern Vs Pacific time zone difference). Called Southbay a 3rd time and they finally agreed to release my vehicle and bring it to my preferred shop. When I asked Carolina why she insisted that I needed my insurance's authorization she could not provide me with an answer and instead of apologizing, she rudely asked "Why do I want to go backwards"? Having your customers jump through hoops for no reason is unacceptable. I will never use Southbay Towing again.
CALL BACK/DISPATCH WOMAN IS UNHAPPY IN SO MANY LEVELS. Its been twice I requested via insurance and gets callback from her asking senseless questions about owing service needed. If I say my car is disable/doesn't run or wheels fall off, she keeps asking what's wrong with it. I just told her and gets all mad when clarify I need a towing to the shop because it doesn't run. ITS TWICE THIS THIS YEAR PLEASE SOUTHBAY TOWING GET ANOTHER PERSON WITH PEOPLE SKILLS OR GET HER A BOYFRIEND.
They were amazing! My car ignition was stuck for most of the day, causing me to miss work. They arrived within an hour, called when they arrived, and were able to help unlock my ignition so I didn't need a tow afterall. There was no charge for the service, and the driver and I even called their office to celebrate his success because I was so pleased.
I would definitely recommend them and use them again.
