South Carlsbad State Beach

Scenic beach known for swimming, surfing, diving, fishing & picnicking, plus a cliffside campground.

I love this beach! I fell in love with this place from my first trip when I saw dolphins just off the coast with my wife. The walk up and down the beach is relaxing and safe during the day, and the large oceanfront houses are a site to behold on a long stroll.

We love visiting this beach everyone we go to Lego land. It's very conveniently located. Clean, safe and kids have fun. We usually stay at Hilton Carlsbad so this beach is walking distance and is very convenient.

The beach looks pretty good. The parking lot is open till 7.30 pm at summertime, but you can park your car on the street if you find a spot (lucky you ☺). Only propane grills, no wood and charcoal (that's a sad thing).
