Overall it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon. I went in with dip powder on my natural nails and I asked her to please soak and file them to get the dip off. Instead she told me no and used cuticle clippers to cut and chip off my dip powder nail by nail. I asked her to stop because I knew the tips of my natural nails would rip during this, but she continued and ripped multiple of my long natural nails all the way down to the top of my finger. Additionally, when she couldn’t get the dip to chip off with the cuticle cutters, she took nail clippers and clipped a ton of length off of my nails with the dip still attached.
She never once asked if I wanted to keep my same length, what shape I wanted, etc. She just began cutting and filing (with a hand file that was clearly used prior to me coming in). Then, she only did two layers of dip powder and I could see my natural nails under. I asked her to please do one more layer of dip (I’ve never been to a salon that didn’t do at least 3 layers), and she told me, “No. Too thick.” I told her it would not be too thick and I didn’t want them to break when I go on vacation, so she went ahead and did a third layer.
She also never once engaged in any sort of conversation with me whatsoever. She spoke to a coworker who was across the salon doing someone else’s pedicure. It was a genuinely awful experience and I can’t NOT recommend it enough. I’m certain that nearly anywhere else would be a better experience.
