Went in just before close to get a septum ring. A person with short orange hair helped me grab it. They turn around and ask how I clean my piercing and jewelry. I tell them I use antibacterial soap and water. They then get upset and start talking to me like I’m stupid and tell me I’m doing everything wrong. How I MUST ONLY use saline. Nothing else is good enough. I tell them I’ve had my piercing for a decade and have never had any issues with my septum. They then doubled down and continued to tell me I’m wrong, and I need to do things their way.
After going back and forth they had the nerve to try and sell me saline for $5. (You can literally make saline at home for pennies but okay.) I don’t know why they thought I’d buy anything else from them after they talked to me the way they did. I almost walked out without the purchase. They went as far as to tell me to look them in the eyes and listen to why I’m wrong. That’s a hell nah from me, dawg. They told me I have no idea about wound care. I’m an EMT. That’s literally my job. My friend who was with me is a CNA. And open wound? It’s healed. I’ve had it since 2012. By the time I got to Spencer’s I had my ring out for 6 hours. Didn’t close. New jewelry went in with absolutely no issues.
I cut them off mid sentence and told them, “No, I’m in the medical field, again, I’ve had this piercing for over a decade, I know my body better than anyone else, I’m FINE.” They then got very pissy, tossed my jewelry on the counter and shouted for someone else to check me out. Super unprofessional and rude. I don’t know why it had to go that far. Accept my answer and move on.
Jewelry is great though. Good quality, looks very cute in my sniffer. Btw, I cleaned it with soap and water.
Edit: If you have cameras in the store, our first interaction with them was at 7:41pm. The back and forth was soon after.
