Tried their Chef Special for the day and Chole Bhature.
Chole tasted good, very light and flavourful. The Bhature on the other hand could have been better.
Chef Special was a complete value for money. It came with chicken Vindaloo, salad, rice and naan. Vindaloo was nice but not authentic, rice and salad was good. But the naan was hard and chewy.
Just off pike place, we stumbled upon this place when walking back to the main road. We came in, no greeting from the guy at the counter, asked if we could get a table, seated ourselves, were given paper menus and then waited 5 mins, was clear no one was coming to take our order so we went up to order ourselves. If you are going to be a restaurant as well, you need to wait on customers, unless specified differently somewhere. The food was very cheap for somewhere in a prime location but the drink, they wanted $9 for a 330ml of Indian beer. That’s excessive!
Same guy that was at the counter, went back and cooked the food, came out within 10-15 mins. Chicken Vindaloo spice level 5, I’ve been many places before that don’t want to give you it HOT even when you order it that hot, this place was happy to do so. Great food, full of flavour and spice, Garlic naan was also well cooked. I really enjoyed it. Partner had chicken tikka masala which was also, full of chicken and flavour. Food was 5/5 and for the price. Superb value.
The place could do with being a little livened up a little, it’s very dark and dated in there, they also need to be a little more hospitable.
Would return just because of value for money on the food.
