I am very torn. When I first checked in, the young man at the front desk was very kind, very helpful, and very friendly. When my doctor's assistant took me back, she was very informative, very kind, smiley, friendly. When my doctor, Dr Mortenson, came in, he was so nice, very professional, answered all my questions, he was sensitive to my personal issues concerning my vision. Everything about my experience up to that point was more than the 5 stars you can rate on this app. As I was finishing my appointment, the last thing to do was get a PD measurement from optical and talk to them about my options. When I get there I realized the front window was letting in lots of light and my eyes had been dilated. I asked them where I might find the sunglasses one gets when the doctor dilates your eyes. The curt gal at the desk says right there, points to a box I hadn't noticed (bad eyes, remember), and walked away. I squinted and found the size I needed and waited for her to come back. I said I needed to get a PD measurement and see what options for lenses I had. She asked for my insurance card and I told her Id never been given an actual card, but I knew it was the state insurance and the front desk across the waiting area has all my information. She said state, but which one? I didn't understand what she meant and apparently I didn't answer her fast enough because she said we'll put you at level one, whatever that means. Then she proceeds to tell me that my insurance doesn't cover glasses and I'll have to pay full cost. I told her my primary doctor said I was eligible for 1 pair I think every two or four years. She said not with my insurance. I said if you wanna call my primary or even ask across the waiting room there... And she interrupted me with "we don't do that here". (What doctor office doesn't verify a patients insurance?) So I said I'd just order them. I didn't want to argue with her. I just want to see again. I asked if I could get a quick PD measurement and she said "That'll be $35". I wasn't sure if she was trying to be funny or not at first. I said I don't have any money on me. She said, well we don't do a PD anyway unless you're ordering glasses. I said fine and asked for my Rx back. She, with the most condescending tone, told me to have a nice day. I was over the entire unprofessional experience I had with her and that department. I said and you have the day you deserve. As I walked away I heard her and her coworker both overdramaticly gasp like I'd told them to walk out in traffic or something. That department, specifically that unprofessional woman up front, managed to ruin my entire experience, which had been great til then.

I am always treated professionally, personably and feel well cared for. I like that Dr Haymore will ask me for questions even after he has explained everything just to make sure that the communication is clear.
As with any doctor's office, I do often have to wait so I schedule 30-40 mins for my 10min appointment.

It was great. It’s a BIG and busy place. I had to walk to several different locations in it to complete my exam. I am an old lady and it hurts to walk. The wonderful woman who examined my eyes personally lead me from place to place and she walked slowly. When I walked by myself back to the wrong place, she came and found me. She also laughed at all my humor. What’s not to like?
