We only stayed one night mid-September midweek, and it was almost empty. Wide open, so no privacy with gravel pads most that were fairly level and grass. Some had nice lake views. THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PAY SO - YOU HAD TO PAY ON RECREATION.GOV website Luckily, we had cell service, although no one came to check if we did. Sandy beach, huge grass picnic area, and boat launch as part of park. Dogs are allowed. Minimal shade.

Fairly crowded and noisy camping but the bathrooms were pretty clean, no power at all but we didn't need it. Bring earplugs with loud kids and dogs but still would go back again. The lake is really nice to walk down to and we got 4G Verizon at times to work.

For the price this is the best place to stay in the area. Get a camp site if you can so reserve early. You'll likely be in a windy place as there's constant gusts over the lake. The best restroom by far is the day use area restrooms. If you do camp here, drive (kind of a far walk) to that day use restroom in the morning and you'll likely have it all to yourself. Otherwise you might be waiting for a stall in a less well kept restroom. See my photos for a campground map - I couldn't find a good one online.
