UPDATE 8/1: Still no resolution to our broken system (with 3 work orders and no fix for over a year). Still no transparency on billing data, and cannot substantiate data accordingly. Another corrupt business practice you should be aware of: we rceived our bill on July 31st and it's due on August 1st (this is a regular occurance)! Whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for ACH-they will do everything they can to try and get you to sign up (i.e. you will "save money") but don't let them have any control!
Update 7/19/23:
I have contacted the California Attorney General’s (Rob Bonta) office and submitted a complaint against Spruce Power. The Connecticut Attorney General is currently investigating Spruce Power, so if you live in California (or any other state) and are one of the thousands of customers that have an issue with Spruce Power, I would recommend submitting a complaint to the Attorney General’s office (in parallel with other pathways).
This company is a fraud! We bought our home in April 2021 and had to assume this terrible Solar lease contract in order to complete the sale. The only way they acquire “new” customers is through contract acquisition. For over a year they charged us a “Non-ACH Fee” of $5 a month. Only problem being that nowhere in our contract states that we would be charged this fee if we did NOT use ACH, only that we would SAVE $5 if we did use ACH. Obviously, this is a breach of contract on their end, so I implore you to review your contract thoroughly. Because of this, we started looking into the entire billing process and to this day they are unable to provide clarity and accuracy points justifying why we are billed what we are billed. We have had 2 work orders to fix our broken system (which hasn’t worked for at least a year) and yet they cannot give us the findings of these 2 work orders-so now we have a third work order for July to “fix” the problem. But, of course we are still being billed monthly-with what data we do not know because they won’t tell us. Stay away from this company and do anything you can to get out of your contract.
