Extremely disappointed in this branch today. The current management and the employees that were working today were very rude, dishonest, and inconsiderate.
We came in 30 minutes before closing and found a couch we liked. While we were there we overhead the employees telling a customer they could hold a bike for them till the next day and we saw them put the tag on the bike away, so we bought the couch assuming that we could come back in the morning to pick it up with our truck. Not to mention we had done the same thing with a different couch several months ago at this same store.
Right after we paid $200 for the couch we asked if they could hold it till the next morning since they were closing and we did not have enough time to go back and get our truck. In a curt manner the employee said no they don’t allow holds because their boss gets mad at them for doing so. We were confused since we just saw them hold a bike for another customer and we asked them why could they hold the bike but not this couch. They denied holding the bike for the customer. Since we had no way of bringing it home we asked for a refund, and they refused to give us a refund.
They had us take the newly bought couch outside in the cold rain where we had to sit with our newborn daughter until someone was able to come pick it up for us an hour later.
This was a saddening experience as I usually enjoy this store and find their employees to be kind and accommodating.
Yet these employees and their manager did not exhibit whatsoever the core values of St Vincent de Paul. Justice, compassion, and service to others.
