Nov. 30, 2023, between 6:35-6:50 pm. Went in to have a few items exchanged, nobody was at the line-up and store was quiet. Three ladies were behind the till. However, after doing the exchange, which took about 5 min, the cashier walked away and other lady also walked away, leaving the items to be placed in the bags on the counter, boxes all open, one mug was turned sideways in the open box (to get the price barcode, I am assuming) and just left me there, standing in front of the till. Nobody was offering to close the boxes up, put them in the bags, which I am sure that they were supposed to do, not the customer. (Maybe an exchanging customer is not considered as a customer.) The thing with the Been There Series Mugs is that the box lids are quite tight and difficult to separate from the overlapping bottom part - I stood there trying to get the lids separated for a while so that I can close the boxes and take them home without the mugs falling out. SERIOUSLY, NOBODY WAS DOING ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. All standing there chatting and looking over which I found very strange. It felt like they all knew what to do but decided to not do anything? I regularly purchase a big order of coffee for my work staff and didn’t complain even if the coffee order was wrong (not full, very diluted taste, varying quality etc). I also purchase large amount of Star Bucks merchandizes as gifts. I sometimes buy multiples of the Been There Series mugs, totalling more than 20 mugs at a time. I have also bought from other Starbucks branches and never once had this kind of service! Seven Oaks, Surrey, Langley and old Sumas Location by Super 8 - customer service staff always did their job - they closed up the boxes and bagged them up for me so I can take them. They sometimes even offered to wrap glass tumblers with festive SB starry tissue paper around Christmas. Never had anyone just leaving the empty bags and open boxes all over the counter and got the customer to finish packing 🤔 They seemed to not know what to do as SB employees and almost ignorant. Please stop chatting amongst yourselves and do your job. It may have not been a huge issue for some people but it absolutely didn’t feel right and even felt almost discriminated, and very unsatisfied…!
