About two years ago a friend of mine wanted a documentary done for an amazing leader in Seattle, I had some footage of my then school filmed. Steve was the cinematographer, he was amazing with kids, professional and talented. Fast forward to last summer, I was randomly asked by Seattle University to give my thoughts on video for my Ed Program, and in walks Steve Hyde. I was incredibly nervous! He eased my nerves, helped me feel natural by just talking to me as if the camera wasn't there. He has a way about him that is calming and allows you to either focus on what you're doing and ignoring him, or just talking to him and still ignoring the camera. He is a calm, peaceful person. Today the university sent him to my new school to shoot, and of course, Steve, made me comfortable with a camera following me, asked me the right questions to get me talking and balanced the curiosity of kiddos flawlessly. I hope I also mentioned his work is phenomenal, he knows the right angles to flatter everyone he films. Steve is brilliant and will make you also come across beautifully if your filmed by him. Get it right the first time, choose Steve Hyde, he truly brings your art/passion to life through video.
