[2024-01-19: 1 Star] I can not recommend anybody go with sunpower. It is absolutely the worst experice I ever had with any company. I started my solar install project with them in September 2022, 44k loan to install ~20 panels. it is January 2024 and still NOT COMPLETE and started making monthly payments on the solar. They hide and don't respond to emails. ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE. Incredibly stressful.
[2024-02-19: UPDATE - 3 Stars] The next day since my last revew (above), Sunpower escalated my case with good folks within the company. They assigned me a new project manager, Ronin, who took the time to provide weekly updates... Updates every 2 weeks or so is all I really asked for. Ronin and the escalation team got my case passed city inspection by going straight to the city inspector manager and approved by my electrical company. My solar system is officially green. Half way through the month, I'm already seeing savings from my electric bill.
I really wish I can give SunPower 5 stars. They're system is top notch. I did the research which showed their systems is the way to go. The app has been awesome. Knocked off 2 stars because the 1 year and 4 months I have been waiting, about 8 of those months without hearing from them was frustriating. All they had to do is keep me in the loop once every 2-3 weeks. After taking a 44k solar loan, I don't think that's too much ask for.
my account is under christian vaca and Ruth Vaca, I would never recommend sun power their customer service is far below any rating could go. First when I got the panels through my new home build, I was unable to speak to ANYBODY about their services and what I would get as a warranty or what options we could explore. Second, their activation timeframe was prolonged more than expected. and their customer service line never is answered by anyone that actually knows how to properly speak to a valued customer. Dan and Mia last helped me and they clearly do not understand the value of someones time as my call lasted on hold for nearly 1 hr. just to be told I would need to wait for my case number and have someoen call me back.
The only good experience I have had are with the individual workers that have came to my home to service the system. Nick was so kind and understanding.
And on top of that they promise to compensate for malfunctions and at the end of the day claim that they never offered a compensation for nonfunctioning days. They try telling you that the panels are still working and that our electric usage probably just went up when I have proof that my panels were not performing to their standard on the days my case was in effect.
I have a new case created now for this terrible experience, lets see if they ever do contact me regarding this issue. Sad to say that I will be paying to this company for the duration of the loan.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
