just letting people know buying any soil products from Swanson in bulk or bags you could be infested with cat tail weeds. There piles are stalked next to Cowlitz River and cat tail is bad in the area. Cat tail weeds are very hard to kill so buyer be ware if buying these products from a company that is in it now for only the money not the benefit of the community Also you could be ordering from a local company that is the only one allowed to sell and deliver other than Swansons

I have been purchasing thousands of dollars of product from Swanson’s for years but I am done …… I ordered a repeat delivery of 5/8” to 1 1/4” and was given 3” that absolutely requires a machine that we do not have as I spread the 5/8” to 1 1/4” by hand - I was not present at the delivery so when I saw it I called and was told it was called track rock and it’s main use is for building roads - I have a road …… I was then called today and was accosted by a employee who did not have any of her facts straight even about my prior deliveries (yep multiple deliveries just this summer) - her solution was 10% discount off the product that should have been delivered - what?? ….. a big $40 ??? while I am left with a pile in front of a shop door that requires me to rent or hire a machine to move it at roughly $500 so essentially making the order almost $1500 (wrong delivery + machine + correct order) …… she also said I would have seen the “incorrect” type of rock in an email - there is ZERO email from Swanson’s but I found it in my emails from a Denali WATER Solutions???? Why oh why would I think to look at an email from Swanson’s Rock & Bark with a name that has WATER in it when I didn’t order from a WATER company - well whatever this company is called it is now not a part of my yearly supplier list …… as a complete side note: Dennis the delivery guy is the best and I will definitely miss working with him - in conclusion: I personally cannot recommend this company any longer as they will mess your order up and take zero responsibility

Permanently closed the retail sales section. Disappointed to lose access to picking up materials here. They do still deliver.

Swanson bark and Wood products is a fantastic business. I go there to get raised bed soil soil. It is amazing. The price today was $32.50 for 1 yard compared to the home centers, you can’t beat it. These guys are efficient, fast, and safe. They had me loaded out in less than five minutes, even though the place was busy. If you are unsure of what you need, they have a Samples in the office and they are more than happy to take you out and show you the product you were buying.
