Impressive campus with views from upper floors. Lots of shops in the lobby /1st floor and they are checking Covid status as you enter.
Parking in surface lots is free up to 4 hours — what a pleasant change from $4/hr parking at the First Hill or Cherry Hill campuses!
I will try and be as detailed as possible, you guys be the judge of whether my rating is justified.
My family has been engaged with swedish for the last couple of months, because we were pregnant and had the entire pregnancy and delivery in swedish.
In general the doctors have been very good here, except for one instance, which I will come to later. No complaints in this area.
It is the support staff that I feel needs attitude adjustments.
We were scheduled for a regular delivery and it eventually went into an urgent C-section and I must say the team of doctors, nurses anesthesiologists wtc were simply wonderful in labor and delivery. Their efficiency was unparalleled and professionalism beyond 5 stars.
Things went weird after we got shifted to post partum care. Since it was a c-sec, we should have been given the option to stay an extra day, and they did after us arguing our point but the doctor on call, an asian lady, just seemed to want us out. She started pushing for discharge not even 24 hours after the baby's birth.
Then there were the unhelpful nurses there, they refused to change the baby's diaper claiming they didn't have experience with it(what?!??) and insisted we learn it ourselves. To note, my wife was alone at the time without a support person and was restrained to her bed because of the surgery.
For breast pump training, the nurses suggested to use youtube instead of helping us, we feel as a post partum nurse they should be knowledgeable.
On day two, the nurses even stopped coming in for regular checks, my wife had to remind them that her medications were due!
The icing of the cake was when we were discharged, my wife had to walk to the car with me carrying the baby because the nurse refused to push the wheel chair beyond the hospital gate, till date I have never seen a single patient having to walk to their car, and we have been visiting the hospital for more than 9 months now!
