I'm going to start off by saying that the receptionist here was exceptional. Very kind, reassuring, and patient as I'm sure she's been having to handle many angry phone calls. Nothing against her. I hope she's valued by her employers.
Here's my issue: My son needs a small surgery and his pediatrician referred us to Swedish Pediatrics in Issaquah. We set a consultation appointment with Dr. Andersen in April for the beginning of August, which is 4 months out. A week before his appt, I get a call that the doctor has gone on sabbatical (the actual term used) and that we need to reschedule with another provider, Dr. Snow, but she has no available openings until the end of October. Alright, appointment set. Well, it's the end of August and I received a call this morning that Dr. Snow will not be available on the day of our appointment, which isn't for 2 months, and that I'll need to rescedule for December. If we're keeping track: that's 8 months from the time I first called them.
If I can't even get in for a consultation, how am I supposed to trust this facility to perform surgery on my son? Are they going to keep pushing the surgery appointment? Are they going to keep sending me to different, flaky doctors? Will anybody be available after said surgery for after care, checkups, or God forbid an emergency?
I'm not willing to take that gamble and will not be taking either of my sons to Swedish for any reason, ever. And now I have to start the process all over again with another referral to another clinic/hospital.
