I get a lot of recycled clothes — Goodwill, vintage, naked lady parties, etc. — but when I actually buy new clothes and shoes, I mostly get them at Switch. The really great thing about the store is that they're not your everyday Nordstropology/J Cranana Retarget cookie cutter jeggings 'n T's to make you look like a regular Sbux komrade. The clothes at Switch are different. Their brands aren't the ones you find advertised in Vanity Fair— you'll find new names you don't recognize, some great lines from local designers, and they even have shoes that are owner-designed, made just for Switch. I love them because I can mix their clothes with my own vintage things — a bolero-length Wooden Ships sweater is perfect with a skirt my gramdmother wore in the 1930's, grandmother wore in the 1930's, an Effie's Heart cotton print dress goes with my 1960's blue suede belted jacket, the short green boots with the side-hooks&laces go with everything — and they create a look that you can't quite define, but it stands out. Some of my Switch combination outfits get complimented by strangers from San Francisco to Manhattan. They also have cool socks, mittens, handbags belts scarves and eye-catching earrings and necklaces. And super friendly, chatty employees who love to help you find exactly what you want. I ❤️ Switch!
