I have eaten my lunch and dinner at this restaurant since the new owner took over. Some waitresses are not very friendly. One or two waitresses never serviced to me. I have to wait other waitresses to take my order. Sometimes, I have to wait more than 5 to 10 minutes to find a waitress during the busy time. The food is not very good, but there is a lot of food on the plate. The price is cheaper than other restaurants. I heard some people who I know. They told me that some waitresses were not nice to them. They treat some customers very good, no addition charge for drink or soup. They always charged me when I requested a drink or soup. The soup is not fresh at the lunch. They give the customers that the soup was yesterday.
That restaurant is always dirty under the tables when I eat there. The restroom is not clean and smell. Some waitresses are not very friendly. Now, I feel that I will not go back there.
I give this place in 2 stars.
My family loves this place. It is cozy and the food is more like the home cooking my parents use to make in their kitchen. No frills and the portions are large. I am so use to the bitter melon in black bean sauce with cod fillets. The service is good and they come to fill your teacups often. We often have get togethers here and everyone picks their favorite dish from the menu. It is located at 337-8th Street in Oakland Chinatown not to be confused with the other restaurants on the block.
