Switched to T-Mobile early in the year and had a good experience except for the phone trade-in/credit. I physically gave Tyler (manager) and another associate my used iPhone SE in perfect condition. I was offered the standard $400 in bill credits to be applied over a couple years. Tyler and the associate inspected my phone, packaged it up, shipped it out, and provided me a tracking slip/receipt.
After a couple months of not receiving the credit I was promised, I spent hours on the phone with T-Mobile corporate. Eventually they claimed the phone had a crack on the screen when they received it which brought my credit from $400 down to about $45.
It was absolutely impossible for me to have any contact with the phone once I handed it over to Tyler to ship out, so if the screen was indeed cracked when it arrived at corporate, that is 100% on Tyler, the other associate, or the shipper, but somehow, I ended up being financially responsible.
I NEVER would have given up my phone if I had known someone else would crack it and I would only get $45 for it. They are obviously unable to return the phone to me in perfect condition, as I provided it, so I lose all-around. I visited the store to explain this, was told Tyler would reach out, but that did not happen.
I really wanted to like T-Mobile, but on principle alone, I am frustrated enough to switch back to Verizon, not to mention the money and phone I will never get back. Best of luck to anyone else trading in a phone, guess it's a total gamble that some of us will lose.
