Amazing first responders! They saved my life. They arrived quickly, they knew what to do when I completely went into cardiac arrest. I was unconscious for all their heroic measures as it took 3 times shocking me before they got a rhythm. But just as amazing to me was how they were able to comfort my daughter who called 911 and either during or after my care they explained everything to her, all my strange responses to the treatment which would have been frightening to her. They were able to calm and educate her which was a blessing to me! She did much better than I would have expected and I credit the compassion of the firefighters who took that extra step to help her when I could not. Two weeks later when they had to respond again, I was not in arrest but had a funky rhythm, I didn’t need an ambulance, but because they made it clear to me that I SHOULD go to the hospital, in fact they didn’t want to leave until they had me committed to going, I was able to get much needed cardiac care. I have always been a fan of Firefighters, EMS, Police…but when I call them Heroes it’s personal now. THANK YOU Station 3 for your service! I encourage everyone in our community to support these great people who serve us! THANK YOU for more precious time with my children!
