I have driven by this place 100's of times and I have never noticed that this was Tacoma's First Hospital. There have been some little signs around that house but, nothing that stood out to say " look this way Tacoma's First Hospital " or something that would attract more attention or people. The memorial is for Fanny Paddock a woman who wanted just to help anyone she could, she said "I feel like it's what I'm supposed to be doing so, " April 29th 1882 she was recognized as a pillar of the community for many years of helping people. I'm a Nursing Instructor and I love this kind of history, I'm going back to Tacoma in few days, it's only 40 minutes from my home. Photos to come !!!
