Going snowboarding for the first time in a long time on Monday and needed some new boots and a helmet. Was searching for a shop and learned that there is a Tactics here in Portland! I had been to the one in Eugene a long time ago so I thought I would pop in and check it out. The service was awesome! They had a great sale going on, so I got my boots and helmet for less than the original cost of the boots! They had a great selection of boots, bindings, boards, and apparel. If you're not in a major hurry to get your stuff, you can have things delivered from the warehouse in Eugene too and it doesn't usually take too long. I'll be back for sure.

I know nothing about skateboarding and my son asked for a skateboard for his birthday. I came in to to ask questions and make sure I was buying the right thing and the staff were incredibly helpful! Didn’t make me feel embarrassed for my lack of knowledge—awesome all around experience.

I should have gone to Cal Skates! I really wanted to support a small local skate shop but after multiple bad experiences I cant anymore. The staff is very nice but seem more concerned with fashion than skateboarding as you couldn't even properly grip tape a deck. I look down at the bubbles in my tape and curse your poser, hipster, stolen style, no taste having shop... Multiple new boards snapping, trucks that bent after a week, what happened to skateboarding?
