I have struggled with whether or not to post anything about our situation. I have decided to post in hopes that I can prevent this from happening to someone else. In May, we met Shannon Hough from SHE (Shannon Hough Events) at her venue, Belle Rae. We fell in love with the venue which has so much southern charm. We made the decision to have our wedding and reception at the Belle Rae, and to have Shannon as our wedding coordinator. We signed a contract to secure our date for the Belle Rae wedding venue and for Shannon (SHE) to coordinate our wedding day. Two days later, Shannon texted me that our date that we signed a contract for was no longer available because her partner switched a wedding date without writing it down on their master calendar. To make a long story short, she did not want to refund our money for the venue or for her as our wedding coordinator. This was not our mistake. This was their mistake and they did not want to refund our money. When I stood up for us and would not be bulldozed by Shannon when I finally told her that I did not have confidence in her wedding coordinator abilities, she would not take my phone calls or respond directly to my text messages. (I would text her and she would text my fiancé a response, even though he was not in the conversation. I had to start including him in the text messages so we would get a response to our questions. We finally received our deposit for the Belle Rae Venue but Shannon (SHE) refuses to return our $1250 deposit. Lesson to be learned- I am encouraging anyone who is interested in using the Belle Rae as their wedding venue or Shannon Hough (SHE) as their wedding coordinator to refuse to sign their homemade contract because apparently they can do whatever they please, even when she texted My fiancé that she did not want to be our wedding coordinator because I said that I didn’t have faith in their wedding coordinator capabilities after their huge mix up within 2 days of us signing the contract. She refuses to return our deposit. She is also unprofessional in her communication, and her follow through. We have tried to have a face to face meeting for one last attempt to get our deposit back but she continues to flake at the last minute.
