-Black Tux Turned My Rental into a Total Disaster- Renting a suit from Black Tux was a complete and utter letdown. Every step of the way, it felt like they were actively trying to make things difficult.
My in-store appointment was a joke. The consultant couldn't have been less interested in helping me pick out an outfit. It was like pulling teeth to get any advice on colors or styles. They just left me hanging, completely abandoned.
Then things went off the rails entirely. I was there to rent a suit, but somehow ended up getting fitted for a tuxedo. This one mistake snowballed into a disaster. Despite being very clear about sizing, the consultant brought me clothes that were way too big – completely the wrong sizes. They honestly seemed checked out, like they couldn't care less. Frankly, I could have gotten better service ordering online.
By the time I left the store, I was fuming. Not only did I feel frustrated, but I also had zero confidence in the suit I'd "chosen."
When the suit finally arrived, my disappointment reached new heights. Apparently, a tuxedo fit doesn't translate to a suit fit. The pants I tried on in-store had adjustable straps for a better fit, but the actual suit pants didn't have them at all. No one bothered to mention this crucial detail, leaving me with pants that looked like clown pants.
To make matters worse, the "adjustments" the consultant promised on the jacket (like moving a button) were a complete lie. They didn't even offer that service! So now, both the jacket and pants were completely wrong. And just for good measure, the shirt was the wrong size too – a total disregard for everything I'd specifically told them.
Needing the suit for an event, I had no choice but to wear this ill-fitting monstrosity. Let me tell you, it was incredibly embarrassing.
Returning the suit was another ordeal. Even though I rushed to UPS to avoid a late fee, they inexplicably charged me $60 after I returned both the original and replacement boxes. Apparently, a timely return with a receipt wasn't enough for them. To get this ridiculous charge reversed, I had to waste even more time contacting customer service, explain the whole situation again, and wait days for a refund – all because of their mistakes.
Black Tux took a simple rental and turned it into a nightmare. From the cold and unhelpful staff to the constant sizing issues and unexplained fees, the entire experience was a masterclass in incompetence. There's no way I'm ever using them again.
