Love this hike! There’s a free parking lot at the base of the trail, which does get busy during the weekends. The trail itself is dog friendly, but they need to be on a leash. The trail is a steady incline for most of it, with some steeper/short parts. You don’t need to be in crazy shape to hike it, but it’s not a trail for those looking for a casual stroll. You don’t need hiking boots, just sneakers you don’t care if they get dirty (it gets pretty dusty when it’s dry).

Visited back in May 2023. This is a great trail if you are an intermediate hiker/have some stamina. There is no shade, no water fountains, and a brutal uphill till you get to the hollywood sign. It was rewarding but not easy. Great views of the city and the hollywood sign.
Useful Ttp: wear a hat and bring water.

Good sport and thrilling experience, we had some scenic views along the hike. Surreal experience to see the sign after seeing it in movies. We can even hike a bit more to get behind the sign to get a full view of LA. Worth the time. Try to plan ahead and get down before sunset.
