One of my favorite spots in LA. The hotel is always clean even though the carpet or paint might look a bit dingy. The rooms aren't very big but are nice and modern. Staff is excellent. If you need a mini fridge just ask. I wish they would do more with the amazing roof top. It's a great spot to watch the sunset or relax.

The rooms are very disgusting. The carpets are full of stains and look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. The bathroom door didn’t lock and the handle was broken. The elevator seems as if it can snap and break any second. The walls have dents and broken pieces. When we first came into the room the windows were open which allowed a variety of insects to enter the rooms. When closing the windows they were very flimsy and seemed as if they were going to break apart. The room feels very humid. The walls are very thin, you can hear everything happening around you especially the constant bickering of the homeless right down the street. The area is surrounded by homeless at all times of the day and does not feel safe. We asked for a different room with no carpet and the front desk person was very nice and tried to help but unfortunately all the rooms were booked. Would not stay here again- in fact we tried looking for an air bnb as soon as we saw the room but they were all booked as well considering how last minute it was.

In short: what a fabulous stay at the Cadillac hotel! Now, for the details: yes, Venice beach has a lot of homeless. If you are uncomfortable with them around, you should not book anything beyond the residential side of the boardwalk (the quiet side). It is also an older building and smaller hotel, they are renovating (beautifully ) one room at a time, be patient. If you are looking to be entertained and in the middle of it all, this is it! The staff is very friendly and always there to help, the views, both from our room and the roof top were breath taking, also, an everyday convenient breakfast, clean room and what a deal! And bonus: being serenaded every day by the wonderful Starla, at the street corner (what a voice). Thank you all for the last minute easy booking and rescue from our pathetic bed and breakfast originally planned. You rock!! We will be back!
