The billing side of things are not customer friendly and borders on scam like tactics. The doctors in this establishment need to make their customers aware during a regular annual eye check-up that entertaining certain question can result in their insurance billing for a medical check-up instead of annual eye check-up. In my case, Dr. Amber Cumings and I had less a minute discussion on dry eye and the use of warm compress and suddenly my VSP insurance will not cover my visit and I end up paying more than $200 just for that question as part of medical visit.
This is not a hard problem to solve, my primary care physician always gives me a heads-up when certain questions will make me lose the eligibility of annual visit. Doctors in this establishment need to do that otherwise the visits are just not worth it.
