We have a very reactive and aggressive dog who needed vaccinations prior to having a behavior assessment. Dr. Evans was compassionate, non judgmental, and truly has a passion for what he does. My dog is 102 pounds and Dr.Evans was ready and willing to help us through getting my dog the vaccination, despite the growling and lunging. He was patient while my daughter and I worked to get our dog comfortable long enough for Dr.Evans to give the shots. I was Ecstatic!!! Dr. Evans is top notch, one of a kind, lover of animals. Thank you Emily for the recommendation <3<3
Side note: The prices are extremely reasonable and the office is beautiful and very clean. The staff is warm and welcoming. Booking an appointment was a breeze!
First of all I am sure some people taking their pets there had good results and were satisfied with Dr. Evans/staff there. This is my opinion whether agree/disagree. the bottom line was when we had to put our dog down. Mind you I read a couple review I am sure as the saying goes once a practice gets taken over it will affect the care. My son has been taking our dog there since 4 years old..then practice got sold or taken over last several years I guess..who knows. There is alot of dynamics being played here... mines was the vet did not do his best in due diligence in caring / making solid serious recommendations when it was needed. Prior when she was last examined and tests needed especially since out dog was almost 13 yrs old. the breed it was ..I even read up later on that certain breeds tend to get certain diseases etc...so when the vet told me that day I picked the dog up he said my son mentioned "money was an issue" told my son what Dr. Evans said...my son said the money was not the issue was the communication discussed between them. I asked Dr. Evans why you did not make recommendations that "look your dog is getting of age to please make sure and strongly recommend these tests etc...we trust doctors to a certain point and we have to advocate or ourselves or our pets...it is so sad and unfortunate that all this went downhill for our dog in less than 2 weeks time...we had to make a painful decision to put her down April 2. Was 500.00 to get her ashes in a small box and her paws printed on paper. The attitude was "is up to you and if money was an issue etc.." When our dog was showing symptoms of drinking alot of water my son too her..March 15..let our dog all day their almost was 1,000..the nerve of the front desk when I picked her up was asking to pay that bill..I did not even get to talk to the vet or see the dog till after..What I cannot understand is after reading about her being diagnosed with diabetes..right away that evening she had insulin given and later the days or week was not going down even brought her back in again (poor dog).- did ultra sound, had a gulcose monitor put on her and another drug to take for another issue called Cushings disease. Why did the vet not take all the necessary bloodwork on that day when she first came in...I read it was all related to diabetes..so I can figure out that why did the vet not do what he needed instead of putting us through all that drugs, pills blood work again..I know he has so many patients so we were not a emergency priority to them at all..it was too late to change to another vet...I feel that all the medications etc given made out dog go faster..she was shutting down I see how she lays around the floor, not eating hardly and just looking at her sad eyes..and I cry each time since we put her down just thinking about how she went so quickly and how she was so sweet and precious and love to eat. So when she was throwing up day before Easter Sunday that night and morning and later in afternoon at 3:30pm..my son had to call emergency vet hospital here in Rohnert park and brought her in for couple hours...then he had to make a painful decision to put her down because again bottom line all about money...the vet hospital was going to charge 20,000 for 5 days to maintain and give the dog fluids etc..but was no guarantee if that would help since she was diagnosed with DKA (again how in the world which is all related to diabetes the the vet did not figure that out or test for it etc.) why would someone spend all that money for something that was not going to help? I would spend it if that would help our dog. so you see the timeline is just a wasted effort and stress for 2 weeks and wasted medications and putting our dog thru all this...Our dog is gone but I had to write this and be done with this place and how they handled everything ..sometimes the lack of communication and knowledge of support is just not here. Not much care with doctors these days
