Where to start with my experience.... I am a bride that was left in a huge dilemma. I was going through our local seamstress for my wedding dress alterations. I initially reached out to her in Jan of this year (wedding in mid-Sep) and she told me to get back with her in July to make an apt. I called her at the end of June, and she told me an apt in the second week of August would be best. She called me the day before my apt and tried to change it to a few days before... but she called me and said can we change it to Weds, oh... I guess not that's today what about tomorrow. I couldn't but because she had plans I came in early the day of apt. The fitting was long..... I mean long and she couldn't figure out how to hem my dress. She reassured me that she had this and I left feeling like at least the dress was taken care of..... I don't know if she underestimated the hemming on my dress, but next thing you know she wouldn't confirm when my dress would be down and she started talking about rush fees. I followed her schedule, her advice.... she quoted me around $300 at the fitting but said she needed to look at my dress again. So, there I am, thinking... how on earth can this be happening and she starts telling me that maybe I would be more comfortable taking my dress elsewhere. Dang right! It was a nightmare picking up my dress. All she wanted to do was defend herself and make it out like I screwed up. Have you ever gone to a dealership, and they have your drivers license and they won't give it back. She held onto my dress and kept saying her piece. All I wanted was my dress and to leave. Her last little comment tore me up. "I could have had your dress done before your wedding".... really, if she would have said that straight out of the gate we wouldn't be here. But BOY, OH BOY am I glad I went elsewhere. I found an amazing seamstress in Hillsboro. No rush fee, priced under her original quote. The whole fitting less than 30 min a d she actually knew what to do with my ball gown. If the seamstress at The Dalles Wedding Place had requested to see me or my dress between Jan to Jul, she would have realized that it would have taken her more time.... why wait until you are swamped? HANDS DOWN THE WORST EXPERIENCE THUS FAR WHILE PLANNING MY WEDDING.

What a great experience we had at this shop. I was getting married the next day and on a whim wanted to rent a tuxedo for our special occasion. I messaged her around ten in the morning on a Friday and she said no problem. I got an appointment at 2 o'clock, an hour before the store even opened. When I arrived, she was very prompt in getting to know what colors I was looking for. I got measured and within minutes was trying on my tux. She had one leg to hem and that was it, thanks to the wide variety of apparel they have in stock. I was out of there in under an hour, shoes, cufflinks, the whole nine yards. Thank you for making our day just a little more memorable. The color and the fit was absolutely perfect.....definitely will be back.

We called Friday morning well before they opened in hopes of getting a tux for our wedding the following day. The chances of getting a tuxedo that quickly was pretty slim to none so we thought. But thankfully The Wedding Place had exceptional service that went beyond all our expectations. I was shopping for last minute decorations and my soon to be husband went over to get fitted on his own. Wasn't sure what color he'd choose since he had no idea the color of my dress but she showed him a few colors that she felt would work. Wow! I couldn't have picked a better matching color! Thank you for the awesome service, you definitely made our day that much more special!! I highly recommend this store!
