On 1/9/2019 I decided to take my daughter to be seen by the walk-in clinic because I had concerns that she might have pneumonia or some upper respiratory virus because she was coughing all night the night before, and I had concerns about her finger tips turning blue, but was informed by an outside provider that it’s because my daughters cold. Her tips have been fine since.
We saw Dr. Kimberly Reinertsen, she walked in, didnt introduce herself and didn’t wash her hands, tapped on the computer, asked questions which I told her my concerns, listened to my daughters heart and lungs and then ended up saying that she thinks that my daughter needs to go to Seattle Children's Hospital, Mind you, she states that she appears to be fine but wants to make sure nothing else is wrong, saying that her finger tips turning blue is alarming to her.
I told her that I will speak with another provider because I need a second opinion, plus I work at a hospital, and that if they feel the same, I will then take her. I honestly don’t think the provider was listening to me or my complaints at all. Instead she rushed through the exam, didn’t really do anything but say we need to go to the ER and then when I told her I wanted to wait on taking my daughter to the ER so that I could speak with another provider, she then wanted me to sign AMA paperwork which I didn’t agree with and immediately thrown off guard by that. I’ve never heard of that.
The next day on 01/10/19, she had a cop dispatched to my house for a Welfare Check. I’m thinking is this really happening to me because I work hard, I take care of my kids and I love on my kids, and this doctor had a cop sent to my house. I’m trying to figure out what was her reason or flag for her to even do that.
I was really bothered by this, so I decided to go to the Everett Clinic Walk-in where my daughter was seen, to complain about what just happend and Boy was that a bad idea. I was immediately disrespected, surrounded by three security guards and escorted off the property. Basically was told by reception staff and security that they didn’t care and that I needed to leave. Security treated me like a criminal and literally followed me to my car.
Is this how we treat patients now? Is bringing your child into the clinic for cough and cold symptoms a flag now to where a provider has the right to send a cop to your home for a Welfare check. Not only do I feel personally violated, discriminated against, hurt and upset, my trust in the healthcare system has been compromised by one doctor. Now, I will think twice before I take my child in for care.
This was totally uncalled for and this doctor needs to be fired immediately!!!!!
