We absolutely loved The Garage! Our Portland-based nonprofit held an overnight retreat in Bingen, staying at The Society Hotel and renting The Garage for our Sunday night dinner + social as well as all-day Monday planning workshop.
Kay was a delight to work with, and she made excellent recommendations, especially for a local chef who made all our meals in The Garage kitchen.
The venue itself was perfect - long tables that we set up board room style (but could be shifted into different arrangements), some extra-comfy chairs for down time convos, a long kitchen island for buffet style food service, water station + bar, and happily no need for additional rentals of linens, flatware, platters, etc. We used the tv/monitor for slides part of the time and went analog with our own whiteboard, paper and markers for the rest. Kay and her husband updated the place themselves, with vintage and upcycled decor that reflects the industrial, river + railroad town.
The outdoor area overlooking the river is beautiful, too, and in warmer times, we might have held full sessions out there. You're always aware of the gorge, with the cliffs and town of White Salmon rising up behind you.
We would love to use The Garage again!
Kay and The Garage are amazing! Such a perfect, intimate venue.
We hosted a business retreat at The Society Hotel but needed a "dining hall" of sorts for our guests. The Garage delivered!!! It was just a short two block walk to get there and we had all 3 of our meals there for 3 days. There is a train right behind the venue but with the doors closed you can barely hear it, if at all.
Kay was so helpful, kind and accommodating. She made the process so simple and easy. Would highly recommend The Garage to anyone in need of a venue while in the area!
