This course is a bit of a drive from Walnut Creek or Concord, but well worth it. It's an interesting and challenging layout with lots of elevation changes. The greens are generally in good shape. We last played in late June, and while there were certainly some dry spots, the course superintendent seems to be dealing pretty well with the drought-related water limitations that are presently in effect.
Last but not least, the greens fees are often remarkably low for a course of this quality. After making a reservation through the internet (see GolfNow or the course's own site), we paid about $26 per player, including a cart, to play on a Friday just before noon; I don't know of a better golf-related bargain anywhere in the Bay Area.
The course provides quality service from the pro shop, grill, starter, cart girls and marshal's. It's a challenging and rewarding course! The groundskeepers are doing a fantastic job!
If you wanna have a good time on weekends (Fri-Sun), stick to the tee's recommended by the course per your HC. Tip the cart girl for those fair priced (ice cold) beers! Green's are in great shape (fast), everyone that I've run into out here does a great job in repairing their divot's on greens and fairways. You'll have a good time and want to come back.
Another thing I love about this course is their range, you're hitting off of grass! Chip and putt practice area are in great shape too.
You can't go wrong with Roddy!
