I love this place! I’ve been there several times and would go again! The food is delicious, and there are unique dishes on the menu. We had Virgin Bloody Mary, pretzels and fondue, spicy tuna & crispy rice, flower child scramble, seared ahi tuna, and tortilla soup. It makes me feel at home “an Escape to London” - the atmosphere is incredible and all the people working there are amiable and kind. Thank you so much for a fantastic time!
The Henry was decent. What they say about themselves: “It’s our craveable food that keeps our regulars coming back for more. From simple but always satisfying smashed avocado toast to delicate roasted branzino, The Henry menu has something tempting for every palate. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there’s always a good time to drop by and discover a new favorite.” Craveable (not a word) would imply able to be craved, not crave-worthy. The decor was upscale and casual at the same time. Servers were great. Sam Fox, of Fox Restaurant Groups, which runs this and others, sold his stake to Cheesecake Factory for nearly half a billion dollars…so they must’ve done something right, re: popularity.
Anyway, I enjoyed my salad with the small, expensive add-on chicken, but I don’t know if I’ll be back.
The Henry in Coronado is a super special place for me and my fiancé as that’s where we ate right before AND after our engagement last February. So when we saw there was one in LA after we picked out our wedding bands this past weekend, it felt like a sweet full circle moment to stop by.
The hosts and server were sweet. We ordered espresso martinis and two apps— truffle fries and spicy tuna on crispy rice, all things we remembered loving from before. The martinis and fries were SO good, as remembered. The spicy tuna was also tasty however the rice was much harder than the first time we had it.
The bar manager happened to be the one who came to charge our card and kindly asked if we were having a good day. To which we responded, “actually yes we’re having a great day! We just picked out our wedding bands!” And he was really excited for us and unexpectedly comped our martinis, which was a very nice gesture and celebration for us.
Love The Henry in Coronado and LA, will always be a special spot for us!
