We were very disappointed in our stay here. We were in the patio room which smelled severely like smoke even though it was supposed to be a nonsmoking room. The carpet was dirty. The blankets / bed smelled like smoke so we didn't sleep well. And the towels left us feeling dirtier than before we had showered. We texted the host the next day to let her know of our concerns but did not hear back. If we had seen similar reviews, we would not have booked our stay there.

I’m just reading a couple reviews from a few months ago and man, people can truly be very rude and over exaggerat! Of course this isn’t like your staying at the Ritz, Carlton or Kings Palace because that’s not what the overall feel is supposed to be and for two, the building is how old and is still in amazing condition. It’s more of a down south southern kinda sit on your front porch and look out at the world type of place. Not to mention where it lacks in its overall looks, the hospitality here is absolutely phenomenal! Miss Carla does a great job running this inn all by herself and she truly does go above and beyond the customers needs. All the way down to spending her own personal money to purchase gift cards for a little coffee shop down the way for guests to get a coffee and pastry for themselves. I know 100% that everything there is impeccably clean also because I’ve watched this poor woman run around like a chicken with her head cut off getting each room properly in order for each guest. I frequent this little Inn multiple times throughout the year and have for many years now too. If something doesn’t feel right you should be an adult and contact someone before leaving awful reviews that bring a family owned business to lose clientele. After doing that if your concerns aren’t taken care of properly then you take different measures. The last couple years of reviews are far from fake by the way. Please don’t make assumptions that could possibly be untrue. This is just a cute little Inn on the water being family ran and are people just like you and I trying to survive the absolute best way we possibly are able. Carla(manager) I know would gladly make anything right if its brought to her attention, I’ve watched her do it on at least one occasion and it was a beautiful thing too. There aren’t many good people in this world anymore like her. I will continue to frequent The Inn at Penn Cove for as long as she stays open. Carla, keep doing what you do and don’t let the ignorance of some people bring you down or rain in your parade. Til next time I see you, take care of yourself!

We were going to stay two nights at there, but ended up leaving within five minutes viewing. It had a bad odour of cigarette smoke and mold (even though the info about The Inn says smoke-free). In addition, the room was incredibly dirty with stains on the carpet and hair on the bed, as well as dust throughout! It does not seem to be maintained professionally. We had to book another hotel to stay the night with extra cost. Very disappointing experience!
