I have tried to support the local paper but I am done, Monday will call and cancel. They seem unable to deliver in town with any consistency, tired of opening my door and no paper and then you call and just get machine. I liked getting a real paper on Sunday, but will have to do with my NYT and WP on line. Will have to find another way to get a bit of local news. Very sad day for Journalism in Spokane.

Decent local and national news if you live in Spokane, Washington DC or possibly another place and actually make the news but it seems mostly fixed on Spokane and politics that's fine and all if you live in that area. Silly me one of my relatives that live in Post Falls and I'm in Coeur D'Alene. Have little to nothing in common with this news paper. Because it didn't have Spokane on it and it was delivered to a local area I thought it would have the latest info on the area we lived in oh well my mistake won't happen again.

Thank goodness for the S-R. I so appreciate being able to read the news without worry about the source and accuracy of every piece, without worry of being fed dis-information. They do it for me. If there’s a mistake, (rare!) they are accountable and print a correction. There are so many dedicated and hard-working staff at this paper, kudos to them all. I’m frequently surprised at how much valuable info they manage to share and how much I can learn from it every single day about my own local community as well as the world at large. Recently, Shawn Vestal’s article about opening or not opening schools took my complex and tangled feelings and tidied it up into an outstanding argument that helped me make sense of the whole situation and solidify my own stance. This paper is trustworthy and empowering. If you don’t get it yet, you’re missing out.
