Nice people, fair prices. When it has rained it is extremely muddy to step out of the car to go pay.
Unfortunately their offering of Cascade Compost seems to show few benefits of what I have come to expect from "compost". I don't sense the effects of excess nutrients like I've had from all others. In fact it seems to take nitrogen from the soil due to its high content of solid wood fiber. This became a big dissapointment after dispersing a yard of it then needing to remove it and use it more as a toping mulch. It would be useful to have some sort of basic information about its chemistry.
Update: Called recently and asked about availability of basalt gravel for a project. They had exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price. Delivery cost was only $15. Within 25 minutes it was delivered in a neat 4000 lb. pile. Excellent customer response!
Tilz is a family of long time islanders that know how important "service" is in this community. I was a client of Aaron's "Harvestera" business and totally satisfied with their work from a rock wall, watering system to rock driveway and leveling the ground for a shed and relocating an old one. I have a large yard and garden and use the compost and topsoil from Tilz. Their drivers are excellent and dump and spread the rock and compost however you need them to. Diane normally delivers and knows exactly how to dump around the beautiful trees along the road. The office crew is always friendly and helpful. If Tilz doesn't do the work you need, Aaron has always directed me to people that believe in the same values of good workmanship and customer service. Tilz definately deserves a 5 Star rating from me!
