Previously known as "The Ruckus", now Timberline on the Green. I previously gave these apartments a 1/5 as I lived here for the past 3.5 years, rents increased from $450/month for a 4-bed 2-bath (random assignment) to now paying $610+ for the same.
I've had plenty of past issues with the old management; horrible maintenance team, mold, damaged walls from past tenants, roommate problems (left unaddressed by management), facilities being closed often, paying for a furnished apartment despite the apartment not being fully furnished, etc.
The new manager, Josh (Joshua?), has been incredibly helpful in resolving several issues since he's taken over. He was able to get us (roommate and I) reimbursement for the time we didn't have hot water (something the past management refused to do previously for the same issue) and got us a new hot water heater instead of just replacing it with an old one they had elsewhere so it's actually fixed now. He resolved the roommate issue we had with a problematic roommate (burned plastic in the oven, pooped/peed on the floor constantly, trashed the apartment, damaged the blinds, stole stuff of mine, etc) by having him evicted (long process, but old management refused to do anything until Josh took over). Josh has also been incredibly helpful with my military orders in breaking the lease early as I am entering active duty military, informed me how to get my security deposit back (which I've heard old management would often steal) and since he's taken over, has addressed and resolved any and all issues I've brought up.
While I can't give it a 5/5 since they've still got work to do in renovating the apartments and the cost is a bit steep, the new staff thus far has done a fantastic job in trying to get things back on track and fix the reputation past management has ruined. The other reviews on here are valid, most are still dealing with damage/problems left by old management that new management is working to resolve. Overall things are a whole lot better than they were previously, I'd at least recommend considering them now (preferably a 3-bed 3-bath at least, sharing a bathroom with a bad roommate sucks) so I feel it's fair to at least give them a 4/5 now.
I see a lot of people complaining about the current management, but trust me—you’ve got it easy compared to what it was like under Book & Ladder. It was a mess.
Redstone used to own The Ruckus, and when I leased with them in 2021, everything was smooth sailing. The trouble started when Book & Ladder took over. They just couldn't manage, so Redstone had to step back in. Now that they're running things again, I've decided to come back and spend my last semester at WSU with Timberline in the Green.
Today, I had a fantastic experience with Timberline. Communication through email was quick, the staff and managers were helpful, and they answered all my questions. I also met the new General Manager, and he's a really cool guy. Plus, Mr. Oden was there—what a delightful person to chat with.
Transitioning property management is never easy, especially when you have to clean up someone else’s mess. But Redstone is doing the hard work to get this place back on track, and I believe they can turn things around. I can't wait to move back in and enjoy my final semester with them!
Parents beware. The new management is forcing students to move to a new unit at the end of their semester. My kids are so stressed and there’s nothing to do. The excuse is that they need to have their renovations done before next school year. The students are being forced to move in with a total stranger at the most stressful time of the semester. In addition, just before this, one of my kids had no hot water for a month. She was promised a fix but they just gave her a key to another apartment and told her she could use the hot water there. The cost of housing is already ridiculous and they are renovating and raising the rent to 1.5 times its current rate. It’ll be almost $700 per student with a kitchen too small for more than one. People say it’s getting cleaned up from when it was the Ruckus, but so far it looks like it is all superficial fixes and the management does not recognize that the tenants are students who need no extra stress in their life.
Do not trust this new management with your students’ college experience.
UPDATE: my son was moved today and then asked to move back the same day. This place has no respect for a students’ responsibilities. Truly parents beware. This is the worst offense to the needs of students that I have ever witnessed.
