Why 5 stars? My wife and i live aboard our 1985 CHB and depend on our hot water as much as the normal home. However, a boat hot water heater is not so typical, and fits into a not so typical space. After doing some very lengthy research to replace our +20 year old failing heater I was a little surprised at the diversity of selection. I set about doing some in depth investigation and after a couple of months of schooling myself on the science, researching build quality and asking around with fellow boaters i conclusively selected the Torrid Marine. I contacted Torrid direct and had a very positive and lengthy conversation that further reinforced the decision by clarifying my criteria and information on the install particulars for my vessel. What really capitalized this review is the personal delivery! Jeff was attending the boat show in Seattle and made a (short) trip in his personal vehicle to drop off my purchase. He spent some time with me on some additional help and was very proud to show off the quality of my new unit. The new 20 gal vertical heater has now been in service for only a week but what a difference. And as a bonus, the stainless heater looks almost like a work of art in my engine room.
