Caught the last half of happy hour! I was originally going to La Penca Azul but It’s looking somber these days, so I crossed the street to check this place that -strangely- had some open tables outside. My server was super friendly and kindly replaced the beer I ordered (it was a Pilsner because I am not into hops, but was still too hoppy for me). I upgraded to a Gimlet by his suggestion -which was delicious and I wish I had taken a picture of- it was lemony and perfect! My second cocktail was the not happy hour Basil Gimlet (intense and too sweet!). I didn’t try the food because it looked ok, but not amazing 🤷🏽♀️ Moral of the story: come to happy hour but beware what you order. PS. I ended up ordering a glass of ice to dilute the super sweetness of my cocktail 😛
Finally tried Town Tavern for the first time tonight for dinner. We started with the French Onion Dip and Potato Chips. We thoroughly enjoyed. That may be one of the best French Onion Dips that I’ve ever had. If I could order a small bucket to go, I totally would.
I had the Ahi Sliders. Very tasty but a little messy. He ordered the Tavern Burger and enjoyed it. Not greasy and sautéed onions were a nice touch. Fries came with both dishes and they were plentiful. The beer was cold and hit the spot.
The service was excellent! We were constantly being checked on and appreciated that. Glad that we were finally able to try out Town Tavern but wish they were open on Sundays. We’ll definitely be returning.
