Worst experience at any Trader Joe’s I’ve been to yet. Maria C., the cashier at till #9, was talking to the bagger from the moment I arrived at their lane. As Maria C. was ringing up my items, she dropped a bag of my purchased food on the ground. Maria, not caring whether the contents were damaged, didn’t apologize and kept talking to the bagger, ringing up the rest of my items. When I was ready to pay for the items, Maria C. was continuing to talk to the bagger, ignoring me and not caring when or how I would pay. I had to ask Maria C. 3 times what the total would be before, with an annoyed glare, Maria C. mumbled the total. Then, when I told the bagger I had brought my own bag and set it down next to them, they just stood there, staring at the bag, talking. I ended up bagging my own items and paying while Maria C. kept talking to the bagger. Maria C. placed the receipt on the counter without a word of thanks, goodbye, or any acknowledgment of me as I picked up the receipt, and the food that I bagged myself. Why does the manager at Santa Cruz’s Trader Joe’s hire or keep employees such as Maria C. and the bagger? I would have had a better experience, and undamaged food, if I had checked out my items myself.

This is a great place to go shopping my mom and I have been shopping at this place for years this place and Capitola so long that a lot of the staff know her. All of the food here is of the highest quality. And we always stop by and get whatever free sample is happening and some coffee is just great. The Santa Cruz store can be very busy if you go at the wrong time. Because this is where most of the UCSC students come to shop if they know what's good for them. It's great for the business in downtown Santa Cruz. Can't say enough good things about Trader Joe's.

Trade Joe's is generally a good store with a not of great products. However DO NOT PURCHASE THE FRENCH VANILLA COFFEE CREAMER!! this stuff is just terrible. Bet to get coffee mate because this stuff just won't do the job. Not sweet enough and I needed to add more vanilla syrup just to give it more flavor. This rating does not reflect the store only the product.
