Beautiful hike, birdsong everywhere, and Western toads just metamorphosed and were everywhere. There's restrooms in the parking lot, which is a definite plus.
Be careful if you go off trail though, there's a lot of invasive thistle.
Great spot to relax after the long hike up Santa Ynez Canyon! I’ve made this my picnic stop with available benches and tables. There’s no vendors or snack machines, so backpacked food will suffice. Trippet Ranch is part of Topanga State Park. For those who prefer to drive in, the Topanga State Park lot is within ten minutes downhill, in addition to street parking along Entrada Road, at the park entrance. I’m including photo’s with some info. Additional info may be available thru the park’s website, as well as the availability of park docent guided tours.
