Alison is the most amazing tutor you could ask for. She is patient, kind, and well versed in how to teach kids to read. She has the cutest little tutoring studio that my son loved to visit. She is truly the only reason that my dyslexic son is able to read. He went from not being able to read in 1st grade to being accepted into the HiCap program in Northshore in 3rd grade. I would give her 100 stars if I could.

We love Alison! She helped my daughter with dyslexia for many years. My daughter had a hard time remembering what she learned. Alison took the time with her that she needed and had many creative ways to engage my daughter. She wouldn’t be reading today with out Alison. She is a joy to work with!!

Alison is a true wonder. My son has worked with her since 2nd grade when he could not read and had no real desire to learn. She inspires and challenges him to take responsibility for his own learning. Focus is a real problem for my son, and she researches new techniques for him to try at school and on his own to help him be successful. He loves his time with her and often tells me that their weekly session went by so fast. My daughter is an avid reader and writer. We had her go bi-weekly for a year to practice her composition skills before she entered middle school. Her writing improved dramatically! I cannot say enough good things about Alison. She is thoughtful, kind, and reaches my children at their level. I am so grateful to have found her and highly recommend her for your student, whether they are struggling or not.
