This is an excellent hardware store, with friendly helpful people and a good place to shop.

It is not a good place to have lawn equipment repaired. I purchased a John Deer mower from Home Depot that has been set up by True Value and for the first year struggled starting it. I eventually discovered that the battery was undersized and the terminals had never been properly tightened.

Last summer it took five weeks to get a drive belt replaced, and it cost a lot more money than I’d ever have guessed. The mower broke down yesterday and again, it’s four weeks before they can look at it. I contacted Sears Home Service this morning. They came this afternoon and fixed the mower at a very reasonable price. Admittedly, the same day service was a lucky fluke but the moral of the story is that you don’t have to be stuck in lawn mower purgatory for a month. Call Sears.
