PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WARNING: I was an Umpqua customer in 2016 and was under the impression that this bank held a higher standard and service towards their customers..... I was terribly wrong. I was hit with a service charge due to an error made by an outside agency investigating a tax discrepancy. The agent accidentally sent Umpqua a notice that prompted them to charge me $125.00. .... not once, but twice! I contacted the agent and told her what had happened and that I was charged these fees for her error and she said she would validate any dispute I had with getting the fees reinbursed. So I wrote a letter to the branch manager at the Umpqua on Mill Plain and Chkalov Dr., explaining the situation and the error and that the agent would validate my claims and provided him with a contact number for the agent to confirm my story and he refused to consider it and said that they couldn’t do anything! So I told him to close my account. I was completely shocked at how I was treated and the level or care and understanding that this institution lacks..... SO, NOW it is on my credit report and the only way to resolve it is to fold and pay them $367!!! .... or have it drag out longer and go to court! THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT HONEST OR FAIR AND LACK ANY HUMAN QUALITIES YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A SMALLER BANK CLAIMING THAT THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS..... NOT MY EXPERIENCE!!! .....AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT SETTLE AT ANY COST. The only other place I heard of a policy like that was our Government where we will not negotiate with terrorists...... I guess they consider their customers with grievances as terrrorists! WOW! DONT BANK HERE IF YOU WANT TO CONTROL WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES! .... THIS BANK WILL ROB YOU AND LAUGH IN YOUR FACE!
On Monday 05/07/2018, I came to the branch at 11515 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98684. When I walked in, the bank teller let me know that she's busy with another customer and she will be with me soon. I waited for 11 minutes, nobody was available to help me. Meanwhile I saw one lady and one gentleman stood behind the counter and talked. I felt like being ignored. Eventually, the gentlemen stepped to the counter and called me by his finger with unhappy face. I found that's so unprofessional and kind of rude. I was about to step out of the bank, then I heard "Come here!" without apologies for the wait (Instead of "Hello Sir, how may I help you today?" as the other bank tellers always greet to me whenever I come). He did not even say hello to me or look at me while I was being served. I have realized that it's just racist in some way by his attitude and the way while he served me, an Asian. Also he did not say thank you to me or asked if something else I need help. It such an unskilled customer service. His name is Conor that's showed in the receipt (in attachment). I hope he is not a supervisor or manager there, because it's so impropriate and unacceptable for the customer service.
