Uncle Rusty's is Spokane's best kept secret. It's family owned and operated with Rusty himself at the grill. The staff are always wonderfully friendly and attentive and the food is fantastic, pancakes as big as the plate. Fairly priced, super casual atmosphere, certainly not fancy (and I mean that as a positive), and kid friendly.

Uncle Rusty’s is easy to miss as you cruise west along Spokane’s 2nd Avenue. It’s in a tough neighborhood, and behind the large windows is a family-run restaurant, Uncle Rusty is one of the cooks, the Mom and daughter wait tables, and the food is made from scratch. The booths are comfortable, and the regulars stream in. The gravy is refreshingly light and the food is not over salted. Sure, the fabric on the booth might be torn from years of wear, but this place will feed your heart and soul if you let it.

Great place! Great people. So much food I had to get rolled out!! Staff is fun and friendly.
It was fun to exchange our favorite jokes.
Waffles were perfection as usual and the bacon was cooked just right.
We love coming to Uncle Rusty’s Diner because it’s right off the Spokane Freeway and close to downtown.
Thank you Rose!
