Some great things about this place, some not so great.
Location was awesome. We walked down to the pier, visitor center and the coffee box cafe one morning. Walked to Safeway for dessert our first night. Lake Crescent and the trailhead to Storm King was less than 30 minutes away.
Rooms were okaaaaay. My husband said his pillow smelled funny, the sheets/comforter weren’t totally clean. But we were both so exhausted the two nights we spent there so we slept fine.
The shower was surprisingly pleasant, being large and really simple. There was one lightbulb that gave off a LOT of heat in the bathroom which was a little uncomfortable. In the winter could be real cozy but for early summer not the best, in a bathroom with no fan and only a tiny window for circulation.
Somebody with a terrible terrible cough was in the room next to us. And then somebody on the other side cried and wailed horribly in the morning.
Breakfast is usually something I look forward to at motels on trips, but not this breakfast. It was nice it was included, but even my husband who will eat anything, didn’t enjoy it too much. There weee sausages, gravy, biscuits, some cereal and 2% milk, toast and jams, juices and coffee. The muffins were individually packaged and tasted alright.
All in all we enjoyed our stay here but we’re grateful for other coffee options close by, and would consider coming back or trying another motel when we want to explore more of Olympic National Park.
