Wonderful place! Great quality of living and care! My mother lived at Van Mall Retirement Community for 14 years, from independent to assisted living. Even as her care needs changed over time, she was able to stay in the same apartment and receive the services she needed in the golden years of her life. The management team, health care team, food services team, house keeping team, facility maintenance team and guest services team work together well to provide residents with a lovely living experience, safe and comfortable home environment, engaging and joyful activities, dignified personal care, and quality health services. They help seniors maintain their independence, with dignity and respect, and are there to provide more support when needed. Mom especially liked her "personal trainer" Jeanette, who oversees the Prime Fit program. She was also a fan of Chef Jean Pierre who brings a sense of elegance to the dining experience with delicious food served restaurant style. Our family is grateful for the many years of service and care the Van Mall staff provided our mom. Highly recommend!

I am so happy that I chose this place to live. The staff are so helpful and kind. I was so surprised when they called me by my first name the first day I was here. The food is out of this world. There are planned activities. I am able to have my dog and there is a nice courtyard where I walk her 3 times a day. They have been very careful to protect us from the virus and we all wore masks until today when we were told we didn't need to anymore. The staff wear theirs. Come take a tour and plan to have lunch while you are here so you can see how things are.

my late father lived there for around 8 years. bill was gm back then. we never had a problem. my dad wasn't a "joiner" so he didn't do many of the activities, but he enjoyed his time there all the same. eventually his care needs exceeded our budget, so we had to move him (they DON'T take medicare!), and it was all downhill from there. we had huge problems where he ended up, and at one point, he got stranded at a hospital, with no one to accept him. halcyon days at vanmall though.
