My son had an appointment at the Salmon Creek Vancouver Eye Care. His appointment was for April 26th at 3:20pm. I spoke with the call center and the front desk at the Salmon Creek office a few days before the appointment to confirm the appt. The receptionist at the front office at Salmon Creek told me that we needed to be there early to make out paper work. She told me that she would like us there at 3:00pm. The call center did not tell me that. We arrived at the Salmon Creek Clinic at 3:05pm April 26th Friday. When I went to the office to get the paper work to fill out the receptionist told me that they were running 30 minutes behind and that my son could not be admitted unless he had picture ID. No one I spoke with previously told me that. My son is disabled and has special needs. This was a very, very difficult appointment for him to attend. Since we did not have his picture ID with him they told us that he could not make the appointment. We had to reschedule. When we go home I noticed that they had scheduled my son with the wrong Doctor.
I called the call Center when we got back home and yes, they had my son scheduled with the wrong doctor. The lady at the call center told me that Dr. Kim would not be going to the Salmon Creek office any longer starting in June.
This was a very bad experience with Vancouver Eye Care. No one seems to know what they are doing.

Both my husband and myself had an eye exam and neither one was done correctly. So sad all of the money we spent for not. We ended up somewhere else and started over to have it done correctly.

Trying to keep this constructive and informative. I went in to Vancouver Eye Care for the first time yesterday. The positive: The front desk person and the doctor were very pleasant. The negative: After arriving early and waiting for 40 minutes past the time my appointment was scheduled for I was finally taken to an exam room by a medical assistant who was extremely rushed and inattentive. I had to repeat information multiple times and she flat out ignored my questions as she rushed through the exam. In my past experiences at other eye doctor's, the medical assistant takes your history, does a basic check and dilates your eyes getting you ready for the doctor. Then the doctor checks and gets the prescription dialed in and does the eye health exam. Here, the medical assistant took my history, ran through the quickest prescription dialing in I have ever experienced, taking only a couple of minutes in total, flipping the lenses so quickly with part of her hand and or arm in the way each time so I couldn't get a clear look at the chart. After I let her know her hand/arm was in the way she didn't reposition. She then dilated my eyes, left the room, and I waited until the doctor was ready to see me. The doctor did the eye health exam and reviewed the prism portion of my prescription but did not check lenses for the other aspects of my prescription. Unfortunately, I left with a prescription I have no confidence in being correct (due to the medical assistant) and will not be ordering glasses through Vancouver Eye Care or returning there for next year's exam.
