I live in Bellingham, so driving to Lynden is a little bit of an expedition. That stated, every visit to Vander Giessen certainly has been well worth the trip! The selection is excellent, the grounds and greenhouses are immaculate, and, best of all, staff are knowledgable and warmly welcoming as can be. Vander Giessen has also become my "go to" nursery for plants that otherwise have been difficult to find in Whatcom County (e.g. "bombshell" hydrangea, "orange torch" barberry, and "Cherokee Brave" dogwood), aways priced quite reasonably. If you're a bit of a "plant nut," as I am, or you'd just like an enjoyable drive in the beautiful countryside of Whatcom County, I recommend Vander Giessen Nursery as a terrific destination!
